Live or Die

Workout: 5 mile run, 45 min spin class, lift

So Monday I took the day off from working out which was probably a good idea because I about killed myself today.  I had the bright idea of running 5 miles right before I went to my first spin class ever. And my butt and legs already hurt. Then I decided to go do lunges and lift every part of my body after that. I'm so smart.  Alsooo, I'm still studying for my anatomy test which we can take 4 times and no one wants to know what I got my first two tries. Take 100 and divide it by 2, then its + or - 5 either way. Again...I'm so smart. So after my little/big workout I made the trek/drive over to the library to get my study on.  Which ended up being a fail for a couple reasons. 1 i ate for the first 45 minutes i was there 2 we sat by a really creepy guy who would not stop talking to us 3 the library gave me hypothermia and I could not study

Because of those reasons I left the library early and barely accomplished anything. I don't know why I don't just quit school now and move to california where the weather doesn't fluctuate so much.  Or maybe move to Alaska where I could spend 30 days in the dark and get eaten by vampires? Atleast then I would know it will be freezing and get to drink warm milk everyday.

OMG but the spin class was so good. It was tiring, especially since I ran right before it which was a terrible idea but I'm definitely going back on Thursday.  Also, I feel like I could potentially get a really nice butt and legs from cycling? Couldn't hurt I guess. And another plus was I loved the guys music and he was crazy and yelling the whole time....I would date him.

Sorry this post is so short, I've decided I should not procrastinate and study a little. Hopefully I ace the test so I can post a super long post tomorrow about how happy I am that I got an A.

Saving lives all day everyday

Workout: Elliptical 20 min. Bike 20 min. and a little bit of some weights

Today felt more like a weekday than a Sunday. No relaxing what so ever. Got up to workout kind of late (9:45ish) and yet I was still tired all day.  Maybe I got too much sleep? My plan today was to study some anatomy most of the day buut yet again that didn't workout.

I'm a lifeguard at the rec at Iowa State and had to work today from 1:50-5 then came home and stuffed my face with some food and about 20 scoops of monster cookie ice cream. I bought a whole tub of it last night because me and a couple girlfriends had a movie night and watched Something Borrowed. The ice cream was beyond delicious and probably shouldn't have ate it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and today that was eat a bunch of ice cream for me...the tub is almost gone...OOPS

I probably should have dried off a little more...
After twerk I got to go back to the pool for inservice training which was SUPER fun...joking...kinda. We swam 500 yards (20 laps for you non swimmers) which I thought would be a lot harder than it actually was. It was nice to get an extra little workout in. Then we got to tread water for 10 minutes and just practice some lifeguarding thangs. The best part is we got to go off the high platform board.  I didn't think it would be that scary then I got up there and about pooped my pants. No worries I jumped and had the biggest adrenaline rush after.

I also had some coffee before my swim which definitely had to help out a little and now I will probably be up all nighta. Maybe I'll study maybe I won't. Hope you had a great Sunday!  Anyone else going to try and wake up early tomorrow for a work out?

Saturday Study Day

Workout: ran 10 miles in 1:40

As I said in my last post my friend Kathryn is running a half marathon in october and im currently not training for anything.  On a whim I decided to go run with her...I haven't ran 10 miles in months. It was perfect weather this morning (50s and cloudy) my favorite long sleeve and spandex weather. It went surprisingly well and wasn't tired at all in the end. Sure we took it super easy but we wanted to make sure she could definitely finish the full 10 with confidence that she can finish the 13.


We had a little post run photoshoot but didn't want your eyes to burn from so many crazI pictures of us so i settled for one not so crazI one. Post-run I enjoyed a berry protein smoothie with berries, vanilla whey protein, spinach, oj, and some water. It tasted delicious but I could only finish half of it.



We finished up our run around 10:30 and I had to go to work from 12-3 today. Talk about being sore at work, so genius me thought of wearing my compression socks under my khaki pants.  a. they are comfy b. it is cold at work c. they helped my soreness I'm crossing my fingers that I won't be too sore tomorrow!


Finally to tonight, I'm too lazy to go out again so I am studying...on a saturday...who am I? Or I'm just going to pretend to study, read blogs all night, watch Something Borrowed, & eat 70 ounces of orange leaf. First one to take me on a date there wins my love. 

Question to leave you with though...
How long until helium balloons die and don't float anymore? 
My roommates birthday was 4 weeks ago and her mom sent her a plant with a helium balloon in the middle...it is still floating and here's the proof:

First Post

I'm really excited to start blogging, i've been reading blogs forevaaaa and thought i would take a shot at it to see if i life it. and guess what? so far its been pretty fun basically talking to myself since i have 0 followers.  ignore any grammar errors or spelling...my major is exercise science and im horrible at english. if you follow me you should follow my super cool friend katmetten-->she's training for her first half marathon and could use all the support she can get!

Anyone else running the Des Moines, IA half or full? Yesterday my new pair of nikes came in and i would like someone to tell me they aren't the coolest shoes they have ever seen....because they are.  Not to mention they are super comfy. I'm already ready to place another order from nike. Alsooo I have been major slacking on running lately woopsies

I had a busy day today though with consisted of class from 8-12, tried to take my anatomy test but the computers were down, then had to work for an hour.  I could have ran but i was one of those lazy days...boooo.  So i've been attempting to study anatomy all day/night but i just can't do it.  Basically we get 4 attempts for our test so i just keep putting off taking it.

I did decide to be a good student and stay in and study.....
